Description

This course surveys questions about human behavior and mental life ranging from how you see to why you fall in love. The great controversies: nature and nurture, free will, consciousness, human differences, self and society. Students are exposed to the range of theoretical perspectives including biological, evolutionary, cognitive, and psychoanalytic. One of the best aspects of Psychology is that you are the subject matter. This makes it possible to do many demonstrations in lecture that allow you to experience the topic under study. Lectures work in tandem with the textbook. The course breaks into small recitations sections to allow discussion, oral presentations, and individual contact with instructors.

institute of TECHNOLOGY

I would've thought that such a prestigious institute would be more than capable of achieving much better sound quality than this. It really is poor quality. Alas.. I'm sure the content is good but far too raspy for me.

Worth a listen

Ok, the sound quality is not great. I won't deny that, but I am still really enjoying this series. Jeremy Wolfe is a really engaging speaker and it's not hard to stay interested. It's a little annoying not being able to see the visual demos he is showing the students, but I'm still able to understand what he's trying to demonstrate. A good, comprehensive and easy to follow series. Well worth a listen.

Best psychology course out there

My love story with psychology started from this podcast. I laughed like a drain and I learned more than I have learned from many a college course, and I am including real sitting down ones. Jeremy Wolfe is a favourite of MIT students and you can see why - he's clear, interesting, memorable, and funny. This is hands down my best iTunesU download.
