2018 Official Film: The Story of the 147th Open
Historic, dramatic and compelling to the very end. The 147th Open will long be remembered as one of the most competitive and captivating championships for years. At Carnoustie, Francesco Molinari emerged from the pack on a nail-biting final day to realise a lifelong dream and become the Champion Golfer of the Year. Molinari was not the only story in Scotland though. Tiger Woods captured the golfing world’s imagination once again as he led a major for the first time in more than a decade and narrowly missed out on a victory for the ages, whilst defending champion Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose all came close to making history of their own. But it was Molinari who topped one of the strongest leader-boards ever seen at The Open, going one step further than his childhood hero Costantino Rocca, who very nearly won The Open in 1995, to become the first Italian to lift the Claret Jug.
