Battery No.1
It's August, 1944. The Soviet Troops continue on the offensive in Eastern Poland. Lieutenant Yegorov's subdivision is tasked to hold the bridge to be crossed by the Soviet Army units. On arrival to the position the soldiers find a destroyed monastery and a group of deaf-mute orphans with their teacher Eva inside. Eva has lost the faith but she finds the sense of life in taking care of and saving infirm and defenseless children. There is complicated choice for Yegorov's troops; to obey orders or to save the lives of the defenseless orphans they have just discovered in hiding...
