About the Film
Strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a place that reeks of death and hopelessness, where a lonely vampire is stalking the town’s most unsavoury inhabitants. But when boy meets girl, an unusual love story begins to blossom... blood red.
I quite liked the concept. The fact that its not shot in Iran and somewhere probably in LA is blindingly obvious and distracts a bit from what its intending. It also suffers a bit from style over substance - but all in all not a bad piece.
Definitely worth watching - lots of references to historical western cinema ideas with a few unique ideas thrown in. I would have been a lot more impressed if it had been funded/produced and shot in Iran.
Better love story than Twilight
Seriously - watch with an open mind. It’s about loneliness and the dark things we do to deal with it. The fact she’s a blood sucking vigilante isn’t really the point :) Moody, artistic, poignant. LOVE IT
