trust me not worth it

i watched the Trailer and it looks good, but its not. Really crap story, all it is is watching her fight everyone and thats the best bits. so dissapointing.

Although this movie won't be for everyone its an interesting piece of work from Soderbergh nonetheless. If you can imagine that someone has taken a classic shoot em up B movie and mixed it with an existential European art house film from the seventies then you'll kinda know what to expect. Its a pretty languid, oddly paced film, so don't go near it if you want the usual fast editing and a pace that goes at a hundred miles an hour because the languid narrative pace is the point. The main character is a fairly cool, contemplative person, therefore its pace matches how she feels. However when she erupts into violence the film comes to life with some fight scenes that have been very well staged. What I mean by that is that you can actually see the fighting thats going on, rather than be subjected to scattershot editing that goes so fast you have no idea whats going on. I know that's a bugbear of mine, but that type of editing seems hopelessly out of date now. All the leads are good and lend the film a certain amount of heft, and Gina Carano in the lead is not overstretched in a role that suits her physicality and movement very well indeed.

lame

have to agree, i really didn't get this movie. Action was slow, story was a bloated mess of pseudo-covert intrigue and was absolutely incomprehensible - it was like a 3 year old had been read Bourne and then told to go off and make a movie. The European locations in particular were poorly dealt with - we were treated to Barcelona and Dublin but frankly they could have been anywhere. Lead actress was frankly a pain to watch, the somewhat stellar support at least had the grace to be embarrassed, except McGregor who just can't turn down an opportunity to chew through the scenery with his hooky American accent a la Big Fish. Save your money and re-watch Salt.
