About the Film

Two miles west of London, Dr. Robert Laing moves into his new apartment seeking soulless anonymity, only to find that the building's residents have no intention of leaving him alone. Resigned to the complex social dynamics unfolding around him, Laing bites the bullet and becomes neighbourly. As he struggles to establish his position, Laing's good manners and sanity disintegrate along with the building. The lights go out and the lifts fail but the party goes on. People are the problem. Booze is the currency. Sex is the panacea. Only much later, as he sits on his balcony eating the architect's dog, does Dr. Robert Laing finally feel at home....

High Rise

Garbage!!!!!!! Don't waste your time or money. Truly dreadful film

So boring so not provocative so baddd!!!

The worst £4.49 rental in the history of ITunes. I will appeal to get my money back. It is the worst movie ever made. Nothing makes sense in it. They have tried to do a Stanley Kubrick style movie. Which fails miserably to even make a bit of sense. Whoever reads this make sure not to buy or rent this badly written badly filmed badly acted movie. Hiddleston and Miller is not acting just making crazy faces and pretend to be drunk or stoned in all the movie. The tenants act against each other without any cause. Just a mayhem from the beginning to the end. To sum it up , DO NOT buy or rent this fake Kubrick just rent or buy the real Kubrick movies.

Disappointing

Ballard's novels are first and foremost literary experiments/creations and do not translate well to the big screen. The film is overlong and the characters fail to engage. The late Sixties/early Seventies vibe is superfluous and bit annoying. Still waiting for another "Kill List", this ain't it.
