Chilean director Pablo Larrain's film is set in Santiago during the darkness of the Pinochet regime. Raul Peralta, who idolises Tony Manero, John Travolta's character in `Saturday Night Fever'. He's determined to perfect the film's dance routines at the seedy club-cum-cantina where he dominates a group of deadbeats, with the dream of honing his performance to TV-talent show winning heights.
