About the Film

In 1978 Jeff Wayne composed and produced one of the most ground-breaking and bestselling musical works of all time. In 2006 Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds took to the stage with audiences and critics hailing it as one of the most innovative combinations of music, technology and live performance. Now in 2013 The New Generation production is launched. With an all-star cast including Liam Neeson, Marti Pellow, Jason Donovan, Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, Jetblack’s Will Stapleton and Wicked’s Kerry Ellis, plus stunning new 3D holography and a 3-ton 35ft Martian Fighting Machine, it’s truly a musical multi-media extravaganza. Almost Perfect

A brilliant production that I was able to see at the cinema. Sadly Marti Pellow lets the rest of the cast down. Jason Donovon is a highlight. Looking forward to getting to watch it at home. Enjoy.

Nearly brilliant

If it wasn’t for the dreadfully faux soul singing of Marti Pellow. The rest are great, particularly Jason Donovan. If you can get past Marti (Jeff Wayne, why did you let it happen this way? Why ????)…. it’s absolutely essential listening. It was great in person, fab in the cinema and now will be played bazillions of times at home.
BTW That’s not to say Marti isn’t a good performer - it’s just not right for this part, so Jeff is really at fault. But given we love WOTW, he is forgiven!!! :)

Saw this the other night, I was very impressed! Had the original album and thought this would miss Richard Burtons superb voice but thought Liam Neeson was pretty good too. The various performances of the singers superb too. It's an absolute must if you like me enjoyed the original masterpiece. Jeff Wayne's orchestral and electric guitar harps etc different band unique and turn all this into a mesmerising live experience like no other. The quality of the HD experience to by Apple Brilliant. Highly Recommended!
