A young New York journalist arrives in Savannah, Georgia, to cover one of the lavish Christmas parties held by a wealthy antiques dealer. However, he soon finds himself caught up in a murder trial, and uncovers a whole new world beneath the colourful but conservative veneer of Savannah society.
