About the Film

Ollie Kepler, wacky web designer and astronomy geek, is about to get married when things in his life go horribly wrong. Plunged into a world of turmoil, Ollie's mind starts playing weird tricks on him as he spirals into a hallucinatory world of sinister voices and visions of dead people. A quirky, darkly comic tale of a young man's journey through love, madness and outer space, Ollie Kepler is a funny and spooky reminder of just how fragile sanity can be.

Worth a watch !

Interesting take on mental illness and the importance of friendship .

Aladdin Sane

I went to a Q&A after this film. The film-maker has worked in the mental health world, so comes with some experience. What is it people say - one in five of us has a mental health problem at some time? This film addresses that. A sensitive young man's sanity is challenged and crumbles when his world is completely rocked for the worse by a catastrophe compounded by circumstances and timing. While depicting a terrible trauma in his life, the film still manages to be funny and reminds us that we are all fragile.

From Hackney to the End of the Universe

A stunning central performance by Ed Hogg, with sympathetic support from a very strong cast. It's kind of symphonic in a way, moving from short opening idyll to disaster, then madness, and ending on a hopeful uplifting note. Although the film doesn't lecture, it makes some important points about how we deal with mental illness. East London residents will have fun identifying the many locations!
