John Travolta leads an all-star cast (including Oscar® winners Emma Thompson, Kathy Bates and Billy Bob Thornton) on a wild race to the presidency in this savagely funny comedy. Jack Stanton (Travolta) is a virtually unknown Southern governor on a quest for the White House with his strong, savvy and equally ambitious wife, Susan (Thompson). Running against the odds, the Stantons need all the help they can get from their extremely colorful political team. Together, they take off on a hilarious, heart-wrenching and ultimately history-making roller coaster ride to the top.
One of John Travolta's best films!
This a great film, the entire cast were brilliant. Its one of those films that you always put off watching for some reason, but when I finally watched it I was completely surprised. The way that John Travolta's charecter switches between personas is genuis for the role he is portraying.
Hilarious and touching.
Absolutely brilliant film with awesome performances all round especially John Travolta and Adrian Lester.
Clever script and a great cast
This political satire is supposedly based on the lives of the Clintons' I heard this before I watched it, and I came away thinking the rumour was more truth than fiction. That's the greatest compliment I can give to this movie, Clinton/Stanton the graceful charmer and diplomat and womaniser, balanced against the hardened politicians wife, who will stop at nothing to get the keys to the White House. Infidelity is a mere nuisance rather than betrayal. Fans of the Clinton Presidency will not be amused entirely by the film, but they won't be surprised by it either. As a fan of the Clintons I was pretty pleased by the end product.
