About the Film

The most shocking showdown in Superman history! When Lexcorp accidentally unearths the intergalactic serial killer Doomsday, Superman battles the creature head on in the fight of his life...literally. The world collectively mourns their fallen hero; humanity realizes it will never feel truly safe again. Superman's enemies rejoice all but Lex Luthor, who grieves the loss in his own demented manner, setting off a chilling chain of events that even he couldn't have foreseen. Inspired by the bestselling graphic novel of all time, DC Comics' The Death of Superman, this feature-length animated adventure boasts exciting action sequences that rivals anything you've ever seen starring the Man of Steel!

Customer Reviews

Very, Very, Very Good!

I was dubious about renting this film based on the negative reviews it received, needless to say I am 100% glad I did. This is what a Superman movie should be, Massive Fights overblown bad-guys and destroying half the city in the progress. I applaud DC Comics for this movie, in places it was quite mature and I was shocked in some of the scenes, considering this is a kids cartoon, I highly recommend this movie, and DC, if your listening, bring on some more superhero movies like this one!!!!! A+.

too much Kryptonite

Superman, the franchise, seems to be having a crisis of confidence at the moment, somewhat akin to the Batman collapse following the intially promising Tim Burton movies. Hopefully a creative team of the calibre involved in Batman now, can step up to the plate and rescue the ultimate superhero. At any rate this cartoon, and it certainly is a cartoon, there's nothing here that is graphic, nor novel, fails to add to the Superman canon. It's Superman reheated. Fundamentally the artwork is unadventurous and unrewarding; further proof, if any were needed, that whilst the Batman has successfully found a new lease of life (see Gotham Knights primarily, & the fun kids spin-off Return of the Joker ) Superman is still struggling to reassert himself. Which is a great shame.

Superman Rules

If your a big superman fan you should enjoy this film! for a cartoon i found it had a very adult theme without going overboard so everyone could enjoy it!
