About the Film

Maria (Naomi Watts) and Henry (Ewan McGregor) are on a family Christmas vacation in Thailand, enjoying their beachfront resort when their world is suddenly turned upside down. Unbeknownst to them, a huge earthquake across the ocean has triggered a massive tsunami... one of the most devastating natural catastrophes on record. This is their story.

Customer Reviews

How do I start...

Best film I have seen in my whole life! The way each actor portraits the real people is indescribable. A definite must watch, it gives a good tug on the heart strings. Shall be a definite preorder from me! Such an emotional story, cried a lot in it. Simply amazing! Love it so much, my favourite ever movie.

Yuk! A bad film that manipulates the sentiments of the viewer, ignoring the real victims.

Have any of you stopped to think how manipulative and distasteful this film is?
One well off white Anglo family who survives with relative ease-100s of 1000s of locals die or their lives utterly decimated with nowhere
to go.
And its so recent-less than ten years ago- talk about exploiting tragedy -and just as its sentiment is manipulative, its equally bad as an example of filmaking.
For shame Ewan Mcgregor!
For shame Naomi Watts!
For shame Juan Antonio Bayona!
Draw a line -and dont support them with your money

Heart pounding

This true tragedy of a film will empty your tear ducts and have your heart pounding I loved this event but it is really sad because its true
