About the Film

Zac Efron stars with Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner in the romantic drama "The Lucky One," directed by Academy Award®-nominated writer/director Scott Hicks ("Shine"), based on Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Lucky One. U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Discovering her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

Customer Reviews

Slow and Predictable

I rented this film out because of the high star rating - but I think it must be based on 'Zac Efron' fans.

Middle of the road let down

As romantic films go, this one is passable, but it could've been and should've been so much more! Nicholas Sparks wrote a story that has not been done justice in my opinion -too many key elements that made the book so special are just glossed over with a pretty smile and a slow mo camera. For me the biggest let-down was the almost total failure to capture the relationship of Zeus (the dog) with Logan and (later) Beth's son.
The most heart felt moments of this story lacked any real conviction for me. Zac Efron fans i'm sure won't mind too much about a stupid dog, but I did :)

Lovely film

I don't know why people are so critical.
It's a lovely film and a nice story, just accept the story and enjoy! ;-)
