On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history... but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. From director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin comes The Social Network, a film that proves you don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies. The film is produced by Scott Rudin, Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, and Ceán Chaffin and based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich.
When I saw this at the cinema I was blown away by how real everything was made - in terms of the dialogue and the coding on-screen in the initial blogging/hacking/coding sequence! Website designers and programmers prepare to geek out! Understandably most viewers of the film won't understand the tech jargon but its just great to see a film taking proper grasp of what's involved in making websites and mild hacking.
That aside, the film as a whole is just fascinating! We all (maybe not all) use Facebook, everyday! Its a great story and understanding of how Facebook came to be, with all sorts in between! An absolute must watch! I'll be getting this once its out on Blu-Ray, too!
Whats the point of owning apple tv if you can't even rent the lastest rentals! the film however is brilliant!
Film of 2010 by far
My initial thoughts before going to watch this film were not that great. I though it was going to be a boring film with far from alot happening. But when i was convinced to watch it, boy im glad i did. The scripting and the dialogue between the characters was AMAZING and it worked so well. You couldn't of asked for a better actor than Jesse Eisenberg to play the leading role as well as he did.
Its a must see for anyone who hasn't yet seen it.
