About the Film

Detective Inspector Jack Regan (Ray Winstone) and his loyal partner George Carter (Ben Drew) are old school crime fighters enforcing the law in a modern underworld. Armed and dangerous, the Flying Squad have their own way of operating, and when an old enemy makes a re-appearance on the London crime scene, Regan and Carter will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Tearing up the streets of London, The Sweeney is a stylish, exhilarating action thriller directed by Nick Love (The Firm), and boasts a terrific British cast including Damien Lewis (Homeland), Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Steven Mackintosh (Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans).

Customer Reviews

Excellent

A brilliant performance by Ray Winstone, a cult film for all Sweeney fans.

Brilliant film..!

What is the matter with these reviews from people!!!!... I don't think they have seen the film..., they are just standing up for the originals...!!
Brilliant film, great action.. That's what it's meant to have!!!... what do these reviewers want a film about train spotting!!
Plan b not a great choice of actor.
But overall a very good ACTION film.

None of the grit...most of the s@8t!

Now, I love a well played, well structured British drama. This isn't one of them. Poor characterisation, poor script and a lazy attempt at reviving and reconstructing a great British drama. Winstone grimaces as the pot bellied cop...and that's about it. It's not entertaining or endearing and that sums up the film for me. Sweeney by numbers...and badly finished at that.
