About the Film

Based on the classic ghost story, The Woman in Black tells the tale of Arthur Kipps, a lawyer who is forced to leave his young son and travel to a remote village to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House. Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps begins to uncover the town’s tragic and tortured secrets and his fears escalate when he discovers that local children have been disappearing under mysterious circumstances. When those closest to him become threatened by the vengeful woman in black, Kipps must find a way to break the cycle of terror.

Having seen the stage play. I was worried that the film would not hold up to the high standard of the actors' performances in the play. I was so wrong. There is a major difference in the delivery of this story. The play combines both retrospective and present timeline whereas the film is present time. Good old fashion horror and not blood thirsty violence. Be entertained by a true ghost story and not disgusted by violent imagination.

i have to say i found this more scary than friday the thirteenth all the paranormal activity's and some of my friends said that it was more scary than the exorcist also the fact that its a twelve ;D

Fantastic return to old horror

This really captured the feel of the old Hammer Horror films I saw as a child. Made me jump and sit nervously in anticipation for the next creepy moment.
Its not your modern ghoulish and violent modern day movie, but they hit it on the mark with this movie, the first of many to come I hope, it really brings back suspense that modern flms have lacked since the Hitcock era.
I really like that fact that much is left to your own imagination, so I can't wait to see what the film producers plan to release next...
