Better than expected

I absolutely loves this. I have been looking forward to watching it but was reluctant to buying it as I was a little sceptical after reading every reviews on it. One thing to remember is this is a Disney movie(back to its roots)and who its target market are. Don't expect Mission Impossible es action. Don't expect clever and confusing story line but just appreciate Tomorrowland world and the great acting by the main cast. One review somewhere said the middle part was unnecessary but I thought 2 hours was too short. Watch this movie with the kids and they will love it.

Confused by how much I enjoyed it

It's a bit all over the place but I can't help saying it was worth it. Let yourself get used to the concept. Accept it. It's kind of a cartoon like Sky Captain but in the vein of Back to the Future- ish. Unexpected. Weird. Over the top. Just about kept me on my toes. Positive message to stop broadcasting the doom messages. There's nothing we can do to change the world. I imagine people will read that as meaning stop being cynical. It also spoke of switching off the corporate owned media who pollute our minds. Bish bash bosh.

Just honest

At its heart this is a story not a 'spectacle' - the way all good science fiction should be. However, Disney being Disney and modern movie goers being modern movie goers a producer somewhere decided that rather than focus on the core of the parable it was necessary to throw in some unnecessary conflict and some over the top special effects. There is a great moral to this movie - we will reap what we sow / we will manifest all of what we read & see & believe - but despite the dilution I still thought this was a far better piece of science fiction than any of the ham acted & over dramatised & over digitised dross we've been served up recently (anyone else wish that Mathew McConaugheys career was a black hole). A good story with a good cast ruined by dull populous expectation.
