Plot Summary

Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. lead an ensemble cast in "Tropic Thunder," an action comedy about a group of self-absorbed actors who set out to make the most expensive war film. After ballooning costs force the studio to cancel the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast into the jungles of Southeast Asia, where they encounter real bad guys.

Difference between director and theatrical editions

So, I have always loved the movie, this extended version has loads more gore and the opening battle is much longer.

I thought the score and soundtrack of the theatrical version was good, but this one has edited out some of the songs used and replaced them with less Vietnam type feeling music which dampers some scenes.

Why only rent iTunes? You money grabbing rip off scum bags that u are.

very funny gorr and one liners but the word f**k does get a bit repetative and anoying; good movie; very funny!

Not the worst movie ive seen but definetly down there

Which is a shame, the plot, setting and actors made it seem like a real classic of a film but something went wrong in the process... Had it's moments though, would recommend to only rent the film unless you really love Jack Black, Ben Stiller or any of the other actors because it's moments weren't nearly as good to persuade me to buy the actual film :( If your not already at least 90% positive you want to buy this film, you should probably buy Meet the Fockers or School of Rock instead and judge Stiller's and Black's comedic talents based on that, not this ;)
