About the Film
When Harvard psychiatrist John Mack approached filmmaker Laurel Chiten (Twist and Shout, The Jew in the Lotus, Twisted) asking her to make a movie about encounters with aliens, she thought he was crazy. But after meeting some of the so-called "experiencers" she was intrigued; they seemed rather normal yet spoke about feelings of connection and their longing for these uninvited intruders to return. She had stumbled into a world filled by people who had been touched by something ... and had their lives blown apart because of it. In Chiten’s words, “I realized I could not figure out the origin of these bizarre stories, nor could I prove or disprove the existence of aliens. Instead, I wanted to explore the human drama: who are these people, what has happened to them, and why does this distinguished Harvard professor believe them?”
The documentary is about two people who claim to have been contacted by aliens. It also features a Harvard professor, who is most probably the only sane person in this documentary, since he's found a way to profit from these people - although he has destroyed his academic credibility along the way.
The actual interviewees look like they need a lot more than the basic therapy they have been given, since they appear to be highly delusional. If you decide to watch this film, please search the web for a diagram of 'NLP eye patterns' first (just search for the diagram, then go ahead and watch the movie). You will see that both of these 'witnesses' appear to be checking reactions, constructing facts, or just outright lying.
