An irreverent, uplifting comedy about friendship, trust and human possibility, Untouchable has broken box office records in its native France and across Europe. Based on a true story of friendship between a handicapped millionaire (Francois Cluzet) and his street smart ex-con caretaker (Omar Sy), Untouchable depicts an unlikely camaraderie rooted in honesty and humour between two individuals who, on the surface, would seem to have nothing in common. Directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, the film was nominated for a total of nine 2012 César Awards, France’s equivalent to the Oscars, including Best Picture, and won Best Actor for breakout star Omar Sy. The film also won the Grand Prize at the 2011 Tokyo International Film Festival. Untouchable has received Audience Awards from U.S. film festivals including the San Francisco Film Festival, COL COA, and the Nashville Film Festival.
Best movie I have seen for a very long time
I can't recommend this film enough. Brilliant acting, a very moving storyline (based on a true story), powerful music. It will make you laugh out loud and cry at the same time. Simply amazing - watch it now.
French Film Making at its very best
A truly remarkable film with colossal performances by Francois Cluzet and especially the unknown Omar Sy. A simple story of a paralysed affluent man who advertises a job for a carer and once they meet its a match made in heaven. You will laugh so much at this movie that you will have to keep rewinding it for the bits you missed while you were rolling about in hysterics. The chemistry between these two is amazing and both the characters feed off each other throughout and will engross you for the entire film.
Don't worry about the subtitles, it flows beautifully, sit back, relax and watch one of the best movies ever made. A true story and a monument to the human spirit ! Enjoy !
