Great Video! On Silent

The video is great, fantastic visuals mixed with the great music of Old Crow... except they've added in some sickening banjo parts that make it as watery as the seats of a westlife concert. Without headphones I'm sure it sounds grand, just not as raw and beautiful as the album version.

What can I say? I'm near speechless with admiration. This video is a perfect complement to the great track - a very rare thing. Just as the track is raw, passionate and deeply folky, so is the scene and the characters in the film. It tells a great story, is simple, stylish, and paints a perfect picture of that passing icon of middle-American culture, the travelling show. Check out the attitude and expression of the various band members, the dancing girls' eagerness for fun, the growing interest of the bored carnies and the crowd. Love the big mama: her hard, slightly confused expression turning to an earth-mother poise before she finally breaks into a wide grin. Best of all, marvel at the guy in the green singlet in the crowd towards the end, and the kid looking up at one of the dancers like she's some kind of alien. Were these people actors? If so, they deserve Oscars. I've been singing this song constantly, and rushing home to watch the video over and over again ever since I downloaded it a couple days ago. I've never seen such a perfect combination of video and film.

The quintet's members — who are all from different states — met in New York, hit...
