Epik High craft thoughtful tunes with complex lyrics—but not at the expense of nod-your-head beats. The trio of Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz broke through in 2005 with “Fly”, an inspirational track that brought rap into the Korean pop mainstream. Their lyrics—which often explore tough topics like religion and depression—are the focus, but Epik High are musically innovative as well.
