Mary Monkswell, Lady Monkswell of Beaminster in Dorset writes a moving and emotional account of life on the homefront in 1918 Dorset. She witnesses a combined air and sea attack on a U-boat off the Dorset coast, meets an US naval officer heading to France to escort the President, and receives a vivid and comic account of life for the French and Belgians after Armistice. Voiced by Margie Barbour, produced by ScreenPLAY and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Music from Elgar’s Violin Sonata in E minor, Op. 82, performed by Viviane Hagner and Tatiana Goncharova at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.
