Great advice for “normal” people
I stumbled across the AdapNation podcasts accidentally, but gave it a shot and ended up listening to all of them over the next week on my commute to work.
The guidance/advice/examples are what I would consider “normal”. There are a lot of TV shows and online content out there which are motivational when you’re sitting on your couch eating crisps and planning to get healthy from tomorrow morning. But if you don’t live in LA and have a celebrity PT standing by, the reality is that staying in bed while the rain pours is the easier option.
However, the AdapNation team are relatable because they have come from a place where a busy life, jobs, kids and excuses didn’t hold them back. I could relate to their story and have even got my trainers out again for the past few weeks as a result. Each to their own, but this really struck a chord for me. I even bought avocados this week!!!
Pragmatic ... and challenging my status quo
I picked up on the episode 4 'cardio benefits' podcast and thought 'here we go again ...' but was completely hooked by the way Steve and Bryn approached the topic. Their discussion was thorough and balanced without taking a side and I think what I got out of it was to re-assess why I love cardion; in my case because it makes me happy and that's fine. If I want to accelerate my weight loss goals there may be a better way, and I look forward to learning me from the pair of them.
Vary enjoyable and actually rather inspiring!
A very informative podcast delivered by ‘real life’ people who clearly know their stuff. Quite long and a bit scientific in parts but delivered in a way that is highly consumable. Some of the material is stuff you actually already know but you just need to be reminded of. Feel more self inspired to make some changes having listened to this!
