Description

This is the Sony Award-winning podcast from Book Slam, London's best (only?) literary nightclub where books, music and free thinking intersect in a Bermuda triangle of no brow culture. Book Slam happens regularly at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill, but this podcast gives you the opportunity to catch up on the readings and performances, plus interviews and more. Recently, Book Slam has featured such luminaries as Will Self, Adele, Plan B, William Boyd, Irvine Welsh, Simon Armitage and the Alabama 3. It's the brainchild of Patrick Neate who once danced in the longest conga in the world. You can see more details about Book Slam at www.bookslam.com.

Customer Reviews

Fun and funny

I've been a fan of the Book Slam night for a long time and this is a great way to savour its unique blend of literature and stuff. They call it 'no brow' and that's about right - unpretentious entertainment for those who are not afraid to think. Also happens to be a perfect length for my commute, lasting precisely door to door!

A breath of fresh air

Incisive, witty and intelligent - give this a listen for stimulating brain food.

5-star podcast

I love the Bookslam podcast. A great mix of readings from poetry and literature, interesting interviews and music I would never have heard before. I find it a really useful source for choosing my next book to read, and the presenters are very witty too. Keep up the good work.
