A glimpse inside the publishing machine

I actually started with the Val McDermid and Chris Brookmyre episodes, because I like both of them as writers. I saw it show up on Val’s twitter feed and subscribed. The conversations between the subject of the podcast, Charlie, and Val and Chris, were really interesting in terms of the process of writing, getting published and being creative. I guess they were more like writing clinics rather than interviews. I’ve now gone back to episode 1 and am listening in order. Enjoyable so far

Debut Podcast

Heard about this podcast through a friend who thought I would like it, so I gave it a listen and was not disappointed. A story about how a novel makes it to the bookshelves. The novel is "The Ghost of Helen Addison" The characters involved in the podcast are Charlie, the author, Neil the narrator with a sprinkling of other contributers and some nice music. A journey through creativity, self awareness and brutal rejection and that is only Episode 1.
Really enjoyed it and will get straight in to Episode 2, looking forward to see how it all develops.
The indications are that this series could be really excellent.

Brilliant!

If you're an author or a reader, you'll find this really interesting. I enjoyed finding out what authors have to go through to get published, and all the mishaps along the way!
