Customer Reviews

Funny. Very very funny

The show centres around the Leonard Maltin Game - essentially a 'Name That Tune' movie guessing game with actors names given as clues instead of musical notes.

Doug is an affable host, a stoner with a sharp wit and major comic chops.

For tasters try an ep with TJ Miller, Graham Ellwood, Pete Holmes or Nick Swardson.

The changing weekly panel talk movies play games and above all make you laugh.

Freewheeling feelgood fun, and an anitdote for many a long car-commute on a wet Monday.

Funny film talk

I decided to check out this podcast after watching Doug Benson in Super High Me. Here, Doug presents a weekly film magazine programme with fellow US comedians. Highlights include the Leonard Maltin Film Game and Fake Co-stars. The show is recorded in front of an audience and has a good atmosphere. It's a bit like listening to the characters in a Judd Apatow movie discuss films except it doesn't go on for hours and hours and nobody learns a valuable life lesson by the end of the film.

My Favourite Without Exception

This is a fabulous podcast if you have a love of movies, geeks, comedians or all three. It's a really nice blend of comedy ad libbing done by comedians who are talented enough to make it work, but not so slick that it feels at all impersonal or rehersed. That may sound like a back handed compliment, but I swear it's not! The host Doug Benson (for those who aren't familiar) is a massive movie geek stoner comedian with a kind of quick sloppy wit! The guests tend to be friend comdians and movie insiders which makes for a good mix of laughs, info and spontaneous chemistry. The movie references are generally mainstream enough that anyone with a varied taste could follow, but there are some great left field references which are hilarious if you happen to have seen the film, or can sometimes turn you onto a film you never would have found otherwise. I can't recommend it anymore other than to say it'll brighten up any commute to work!
