The Martyn Sibley Show hears from influential and successful disabled people, in all parts of life. From politics to sport, business to the arts, this podcast has it all covered. Whether you are disabled or not is irrelevant. Every episode showcases personal journeys. The stories are interesting, real, surprising and entertaining. Beyond being just entertained, you'll be wiser for listening. In hearing how the guests reached their personal bests, you'll be helped in your own life. Not to copy them or aspire to irrelevant goals. Simply to be more optimistic in your own journey. Most importantly this show will encourage you to just be yourself. People often get bogged down in fear and clouded by other people's expectations. The Martyn Sibley Show reminds us that we are all unique. Given different talents. We are responsible for following our own dreams. Let go of the worrying. Accept that the tough times are just part of life. Grow through these struggles. To realise that over a lifetime you can achieve anything you want. Just believe it :-) About the presenter Martyn Sibley has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. A genetic condition that weakens the muscles. He uses an electric wheelchair and has care support for an independent life. The only down side for him is when people go "awww how sad". He's very happy being disabled and living his life. After overcoming personal and societal barriers for housing, independent living, education, employment, leisure, and travel - his blog was launched. With experiential articles, photos and videos; www.martynsibley.com has 'inspired, informed and changed' perceptions of disability in the modern world. The blog took Martyn to amazing places. He's travelled to Australia, USA, Japan and all around Europe. His book 'Everything is Possible' shares his accessible travel stories. He's also been a media spokesperson, advised governments, consulted for businesses, and supported many charities. Currently CEO of Disability Horizons and Disability United. Martyn is working on unifying marginalised groups for political and economic benefits. Not just for wheelchair users like himself, but for all disabled people, carers, and beyond. By engaging government and businesses, inclusion can be beneficial to everybody.
