gem of a podcast

This is a brilliant podcast. The presenter 'the gaffer' puts out this podcast once a week. It is a very insightful podcast, for me who often misses the english footie at the weekend, an excellent way to catch up with the scores and how the match went. Apart from having news and scores from the EPL, it also has quality interviews - which are always with a well known soccer personality, from all over the world. You should check out the back catalogue of podcasts and listen to some, including john nicholson, the treble, sean wheelock, and the recent podcast at EPL games to name a few. I highly recommend this podcast. keep uo the good work gaffer.

Absolute Tosh

This podcast is a rubbish if your from anywhere other than America. The knowledge of the so called pundits especially the american ones is poor, especially considering they are supposed to be an authority on the game of football. Their continous calling of full backs as 'half backs' really got on my nerves. They seem particularly biased against the premier league which is surprising considering the title of the podcast, which by the way it should not be called. The 'EPL' does not exist, its the Premier league, or Premiership, but i suppose i can make my peace with that. If your looking for a decent football podcast i would steer clear of this one.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

Jonathan Starling is a very good presenter of soccer results and news. Jonathan is also a good anchorman, working with the various "Chat" presenters, keeping the items moving without padding or trivia. Why then is he such a bloody awful interviewer of invited guests. The Harris novellist interview was atrocius. He asks his questions from a prepared list and never comments on the answers given by his guest. It is no more than an FAQ TYPE session. The Gaffer is excellent in this field and exhibits a warm interface with his guests extracting the personality of his guests for the benefit of those downloading the podcast. I am surprised that he has been given so little coaching in this field which he clearly has the intellect to master. Before someone starts accusing me of "carping on" about the podcast, let me tell you i have listened to everyword of every podcast up to the Harris interview and will continue to do so. I have given a 4 star rating as my opinion of the podcast and hope my truths help this turn to 5 stars very soon
