Comprehensive, refreshing and educational

Although at the time of writing, there is only one episode to judge from, one can already gather that these guys know their sh*t.

As well as the obligatory (though nevertheless enrapturing) ‘round ups’, the show features segments that shimmer with originality that should really put this podcast on the map. The production value and work gone in behind the scenes is clear to anyone right from the off. Though clearly well prepared everybody speaks naturally. Critical thinking is hard to find in a sport full of opinions and not much intelligent discussion in the process, and it’s refreshing to hear people speak who understand the sport isn’t won with statistics, heat maps, reputations and price tags.

Kris (#CarpenterIn) consumes more football than most would think humbly possible and his views are always balanced and extremely educational. John ‘the bearded wonder’ Welsh, may best rival Kris for hours spent in front of the beautiful game. and no doubt his contributions will be similar in worth. Danny the GFP’s reputation should proceed him, with marching trumpeters and millions of Robert Downy Junior lookalikes cascading flowers out to a scene of bedazzled onlookers. He comes from an older generation than me and has a vault full of fascinating stories that I wouldn’t hear otherwise. The rest of the crew, Tom, Drew and Jake have never failed to illuminate my brain in the past and I don’t expect them to any time soon. It’s always a pleasure to hear them talk about football, as all three have a clear passion for the game. I would add that it is also great to hear views from fans around the world (as Drew and Jake are not based on my personal shores).

I’ll conclude by saying how eager I am to listen to the next episode and to watch the podcast evolve in the future. These chaps put a lot of professional pundits to absolute shame and I’m grateful I live in age that allows them to share their ideas on a sport I love with me. Cheers Guys and here’s to many more!
