Description

It's 4am. It's late, or maybe it's early. Your mind wanders and dreamy figments collect and disect to form tangents. Punctuated with isolated sketches: ‘advertisements’, character sketches, conversations, snatches of a TV show, welcome to 4amcab. a nocturnal comedy podcast, scenes from the small hours. Follow us on twitter @4amcab and at facebook.com/4amcab (4amcab does not contain a cab, well maybe a few)

Disturbingly and darkly funny - give it a try

Where do your thoughts go to when you let them off the rational leash?
Dreams/nightmares may be unexpected but they aren't random - they're the expression of our unconscious as interpreted through a dark haze of perception. So where do your thoughts go to at 4am, in a cab? On your way to work an impossibly early shift? On the way back from a shimmeringly drunken late event? To the airport with a crazed minicab driver with no english, but with what seems like the muffled cries and bangs of an abducted person in the trunk?
4am cab sounds great, and the sketches drift from topic to topic like your dreams do.
It might remind some listeners of Chris Morris's Blue Jam, or of the darker side of Python as seen through a slow kaleidoscopic haze.
Try it - its really good.

Don't fight the feeling

Is it funny? Yes, it is. Not funny in the sense that it has jokes that you'll be repeating to friends afterwards, but funny in the sense that it perfectly encapsulates a feeling that we've all had before. We've all drifted in a haze at that time of the morning, when we should be asleep, yet we're eating greasy food that we wouldn't normally entertain and trying to find our way home.

This gets that. It floats and chases half-formed thoughts and puzzles and questions. Once heard, it's difficult to forget. Recommended.

All Clubbers must listen to this!

This was recommended to me by a friend. Like me, she totally related to this 'awake at 4am' feeling. The moment directly after you've left the club. You may not have felt drunk inside, but the moment you step outside you feel tired, drained, wobbly, and slightly confused. This feature encapsulates all of those feelings, and although it is funny, it's sensitive to the disorientation you feel during this period.
Highly recommended to those who have stayed out till all hours of the morning, and have never really been able to describe how it feels!
