I'm Mike Russell, co founder of UK Podcasters community and New Media Europe conference. I was thrilled to host a 36 hour non-stop podcast on 21st & 22nd April 2016. I didn't sleep for the full 36 hour marathon and broke the world record for the longest ever continuous podcast. I was thrilled to be joined by thousands who watched, listened and chatted during the live event. Together we made history in enhancing awareness of all of the amazing independent podcasters out there. Podcasting in the UK and in the world is a huge growing medium that should no longer be ignored. There are many amazing independent podcasters who influence lives and businesses. Those hard working individuals are experts in their niches and provide incredible learning platforms for general public. The idea of this non-stop podcast is to bring the spotlight on to independent content creators who deserve to get credit for the work they do. Join us in the UK Podcasters community and meet fellow podcasters in person at New Media Europe.

How Did Mike Stay Awake?!
Phenomenal effort from Mike and all the UK podcasters. Well done on making history!
36 Hours of great entertainment and value
As it says in the title “The Longest Podcast in the World”, all 36 hours of it, was an incredible feat of organising and hosting by Mike Russell of New Media Europe Conference.
Sometimes quantity can rule over quality - but certainly not in this case as each and every hour was filled with terrific value as 36 independent UK Podcast guests, all experts in their particular niche, took their turn at the mic to share their subject knowledge.
It was excitng, it was fun and it was a real pleasure to be able to say “I was there”
- regrettably not for all 36 hours, I could manage only a third of that, however with all 36 hours of recorded value in the offing, The Longest Podcast in the World, is now for me, the number one “Must Listen to” Podcast in iTunes.
Will Podcasting increase in popularity this year - with events like this and people like Mike Russell, how can it fail?
Good job “Iron Man” Mike, you did well, very, very well.
