A poetry essential

I always look forward to new podcasts from Lunar Poetry and they never disappoint. These podcasts bring together well known names and up-and-coming poets and I've learned about many new books and shows from them. I really value the podcast's focus on the process of writing poetry and the ideas behind it. The accessibility episodes (in the arts, and in publishing) are a must-listen for anyone working in the arts today.

A vital part of poetry’s connective tissue

I knew ‘Lunar Poetry’ when it was a magazine to which I was lucky enough to contribute. Through listening to its podcast form, curated with a practitioner’s grace, sensitivity and curiosity by its hosting team, I have been introduced to poets and poetry which have fired my imagination in unexpected and brilliant ways.

It not only moves and excites me but demonstrates the immense richness of poetry and spoken word right now, especially in the UK. A vital part of modern poetry’s connective tissue.

Engaging, insightful and a much-needed addition to the UK literary scene

Oh god I cannot tell you how much I love this podcast. No matter how involved you are with the UK poetry scene, Lunar has a conversation for you.

The show’s host, David Turner, finds ways to talk to a diverse range of truly extraordinary writers in an accessible and honest way. Important issues such as accessibility in the arts and publishing are tackled with clarity and grace, and the podcast does a particularly good job of talking to writers from different genres and movement.

Each episode is a surprise and an innovation - well worth subscribing!
