The MOMBcast is the official podcast of MOMB - where geek pursuits are the Monkey On Our Back! It is the best weekly comicbook podcast recorded on a Thursday night in Southampton, England. Come listen as James, Jane, Nick - and the occasional guest monkey - ramble on about stuff and nonsense, and eventually get round to talking about comics. We're aided in this by a roster of great contributors, and every week we'll spotlight a comicbook from the past that we think will enrich your life! (This is the main feed, including all episodes, annuals & extras.)

Working from home, I listen to A LOT of podcasts, and MOMBCAST is one of my very favourites that I listen to straight away on Thursday night. The lovely hosts Nick, Jane and James, discuss the latest comic news with a sense of ease and humour that comes with being good mates. Professional, hilarious and entertaining, I highly recommend this show!
Great for newbies looking to expand their comicking knowledge (like me!)
Never takes itself too seriously yet when it comes to the comics they love, they are on top form. I have bought graphic novels through the team's recommendation and I wouldn't have if it wasn't for the MOMBcast.
Whether your a veteran comic enthusiast or relatively new at comics and looking for a good point to step in (pretty much my situation when I started listening), then I can't recommend MOMBcast higher enough.
They're free, so go download a few episodes and have a listen, you've got nothing to lose and you won't regret it.
The Best Weekly Comics Review Podcast There Is
There are a lot of things to like about this podcast- the hosts are charming and funny, and the first ten or fifteen minutes of the show, in which they tell us what they've been in up to over the previous week, is usually hilarious. Also, they make the effort a lot of comics podcasts don't, to keep their focus as broad as possible; they talk in some detail about not just mainstream super hero comics, but creator owned stuff, small press and webcomics stuff (the MOMBcasters are well known and loved amongst the UK's small press scene for their passionate support) and even European stuff. About the only thing they don't really cover is manga, and at least one of their regular phone contributors has that covered.
But here's the most important thing, and the real reason to listen to it: over the last 3 years, they've become the most incisive, insightful and even handed review show for the wednesday comics grind that there is. Yes, better than iFanboy, largely because the three regular hosts represent a remarkably broad range of perspectives, and are more than willing to call b*llsh!t on each other. Every week, they run through the week's releases in less than half an hour, picking out gems, pointing out travesties, and generally offering a better insight than you'll find anywhere else.
In short, you need to listen to this. Yes you do.
