The MOMBcast is the official podcast of MOMB - where geek pursuits are the Monkey On Our Back! It is the best weekly comicbook podcast recorded on a Thursday night in Southampton, England. Come listen as James, Jane, Nick - and the occasional guest monkey - ramble on about stuff and nonsense, and eventually get round to talking about comics. We're aided in this by a roster of great contributors, and every week we'll spotlight a comicbook from the past that we think will enrich your life! (This is the main feed, including all episodes, annuals & extras.)

Customer Reviews

For a podcast about comics, these guys don't talk about comics much...

...Which I say with love, as one of the two contributors who've been on it since the first one! Short on preparation, long on enthusiasm, delirium, and running time, the #MOMBcast is a sincere attempt at bringing that little bit more positivity and spontaneity to comic criticism in the UK. Tied closely to the regular weekly comic delivery (Thursday, not Wednesday, in the UK), and featuring contributors with wildly varying geek credentials, the podcast manages - entirely by accident - to pull together a little bit of comic stuff with a lot of rambling into a peculiar melange of fun, that apparently appeals to comic fan and comic agnostic alike. Which is equally impressive, as the contributors are all idiots. Yes, it may not be good form, writing such an obviously prejudiced review, but I'm honestly shocked by how much fun it is listening back to these, after recording! If you like the podcast - or hey, even if you don't! - why not write your own review, and knock my embarassing piece of self-congratulatory fluff off the top spot...?

Working from home, I listen to A LOT of podcasts, and MOMBCAST is one of my very favourites that I listen to straight away on Thursday night. The lovely hosts Nick, Jane and James, discuss the latest comic news with a sense of ease and humour that comes with being good mates. Professional, hilarious and entertaining, I highly recommend this show!

Great for newbies looking to expand their comicking knowledge (like me!)

Never takes itself too seriously yet when it comes to the comics they love, they are on top form. I have bought graphic novels through the team's recommendation and I wouldn't have if it wasn't for the MOMBcast.

Whether your a veteran comic enthusiast or relatively new at comics and looking for a good point to step in (pretty much my situation when I started listening), then I can't recommend MOMBcast higher enough.

They're free, so go download a few episodes and have a listen, you've got nothing to lose and you won't regret it.
