Fantastic podcast

I discovered this podcast quite late on as I was searching for content on the Ark Encounter. But I have thoroughly enjoyed listening through the back catalogue and the new episodes. My absolute favourite. Keep up the great work. 😀

Good, but a bit New-Atheist at times…

I do like this podcast. They are both smart, likeable people who may have their own crosses to bear but it does seem like they do make some efforts to leave their biases behind when they look into different things. It can be quite funny at times too. I will however comment that I do find some of the ways they use certain words incorrect.

They have a system where they rate the different things they try out due to different categories and one of them is ‘pseudoscience’. But in some of the episodes I have heard they seem to give anything that is remotely spiritual points in this category. It is fine if they have a 100% materialist view of the world and don’t like spirituality – that is their prerogative – but in that case they should just rename that category because that is not what ‘pseudoscience’ means. Most spirituality isn’t trying to be science.

And sometimes they use the term ‘critical thinker’ synonymously with ‘atheist’ which I find a bit disappointing and arrogant. There are some great thinkers out there who are religious/spiritual, and there are also some atheists who are as dumb as a rock.

I just thought I would comment on this as I think it is otherwise a great podcast made by likeable and thoughtful people. I hope they read this and take this feedback on board.
