Suggested Donation is a podcast devoted to the arts in all forms. Hosted by two contemporary painters, Tony Curanaj and Edward Minoff, the conversations provide an insight into the creative mind. By speaking with both traditional and non-traditional artists and craftsmen, curators and restorers, we create a dialog through which we discover common ground across disciplines and spaces united by a love of and deep devotion to skill.

Episode 67: Jay Newman
Suggested Donation is back with another sizzling hot podcast. We recorded with Jay Newman, the author of the recently released and highly acclaimed thriller Undermoney, which looks at the intersection of finance, military, and politics. Art is peppered throughout his book and we discuss the role that money plays in the art world and the role that art plays for its collectors. Jay, having spent a career in finance before beginning his first book, has a unique insight into the relationship between art and money and power and corruption all of which we explore in our conversation. We hope you enjoy this one!

Best art podcast
So happy to have stubbled across this podcast. They interview some of the best and some of my favourite artists in the business and have a good laugh at the same time. Keep up the good work!!
The revolution starts here
After wandering in the wilderness for years artistically, and agonizing over 'validity,' and alienization from contemporary art shibboleths,I felt utterly bereft and isolated. Then I thought...F..k it!!I'm going to paint what I love and immerse myself in the sensual and magical properties of paint and Nature. With uncanny concurrence I found this podcast. If you are alone in your studio, with nothing but a dripping tap for company, and a dog howling in the distance, and your staring with savage incomprehension at your canvas, thinking ''whats the point?'',then listen to this podcast. It is an absolute joy.A wonderful mixture of seriousness and irreverent banter.Lets face it,as artists we can disappear up our own 'fundament'sometimes,so its refreshing to hear the pompous bubble being pricked! These fellas really know their onions too,so the questions are always probing and insightful, and crucially you sense the guests are having a blast too. So,listen to this.....then go and paint what you damn well LOVE!! Peace
Essential studio listening
Great podcasts, Edward Minoff and Tony Curanaj talk to some great painters (whilst obviously having a great time). Recommended studio listening!
