Customer Reviews

Jim and Laura egotistical and irritating

The podcast has potential but the dynamic between the hosts does not work. Jim and Laura steam roll Lisa and prevent her from having an opinion despite the fact she is the most engaging speaker. Laura elongates every point and is mundane. Two large and awkwardly argumentative egos are massively holding this podcast back.

2 Arrogant Hosts, 1 Pleasant Host

Could not agree more with the reviews about how Jim and Laura treat Lisa on this podcast. Lisa actually has a very friendly manner on the podcast, and is extremely respectful of Jim and Lisa. It's a shame they cannot afford her the same respect! I really wanted to like this podcast but this conduct by the hosts ruined it for me. As people in law enforcement and profiling, Jim and Laura rightfully have a perspective based on their years of experience in their chosen field. But they act as if their perspective is the only valid one, that their views are Godlike and beyond reproach. Lisa does not proclaim to be an expert (and of course Jim and Laura have a perspective that carries some weight) but there are times she makes valid and intelligent points that have every right to be considered. However, Jim and Lisa just shut her down like they are the only authority on the subject. Many of their observations are not even evidence that would be considered in a court of law. That doesn't make them bad observations, but it's worth noting as they seem to think their opinions are beyond questioning or alternative theories. Occasionally, Laura will throw in a legal term or a piece of jargon as if that gives her view extra weight! If the hosts would lighten up and realise that the listener will give them respect for their opinions (based on their experience) without them having to arrogantly fend off any alternative views, the podcast could be so much better.

Very interesting subject but egos get in the way

I love hearing the details and inconsistencies in these cases but the way Jim and Laura talk over Lisa like she's an idiot is hard to listen to. Check yourselves.
