Short documentaries and adventures in sound presented by Josie Long

Customer Reviews

Have always admired Josie's stand-up, thoughtful, original and a refreshingly different content-over-style approach - the antidote to 'mainstream' comedians and far better than any roadshow-based comics.

The podcast is fascinating; absorbing short stories where you feel that you are being let into a little secret first-hand from the subject without the distraction of an interviewer. Josie links these together with thoughtful segues, personal insights all delivered in her trademark can-tell-she's-smiling delivery with some cool 'found sounds' (I especially liked hearing some Four Tet on there).

As someone who listens to podcasts every day of the week, I would highly recommend this if you want a genuinely interesting listen.

Best podcast in ages

Iago9819 appears to have commented on the wrong podcast. This isn't meant to be a comedy, so why complain that it's not funny? It's like me complaining that his/her comment didn't contain nearly enough palindromes.

Nor do any of the episodes so far appear to involve moaning of any sort. Even the woman who was called fat by someone who nearly ran her over found the memory of it hilarious.

I'm finding Short Cuts clever, odd, thought-provoking and addictive. The best thing Radio 4's done in a very long time.

Very well put together, each story is very different & thought provoking in it's own way. The music choices added to the atmosphere & Josie's own thoughts on each story just added dimension.
I listen to a lot of podcasts, comedy, news, etc but this is the first one I'm compelled to leave a revue just because i feel the need to tell everyone to download it & listen,
You won't regret it
