Where's the human touch?

I'm commuting 3 hours a day in my car. Not good for the environment, but I thought I'd at least try to educate myself. So, searching through itunes free podcasts I found this; a nice compact introduction to philosophy. This is clever, it took me a while to figure out it wasn't a man, but a computer that was speaking to me. But surely it can't be too difficult or expensive to pay someone to read this stuff out. At best the life has been taken out of this subject, at worst some of the stresses on the words completely lose the meaning. I would prefer they give some struggling actor an afternoon's work.

I like the bite-sized format - good for introducing me to works I haven't read, and serving as a reminder for those I have read (a long time ago!). Thanks.

Lots of humanity

Lovely narration, very informative. I think a previous reviewer is wrong - it says narrated by charlton heston at the beginning, and I found his voice very easy and nice to listen to.
