An absolute must

If you have an interest in film, you have to have this podcast. Truly entertaining and informative. Goldsmith the legend

A lot to improve

As much as I love listening to writers talk about what they do, this podcast annoys me a bit...

Jeff Goldsmith asks the same questions, no matter who he’s interviewing. Sometimes he has interviewed the person before, but still asks the same questions he did 2 years ago.

His determination to stick to he same questions even interrupts the flow of thought of his interviewees and can drift them away from an interest response.

Also, the ads fro Backstory are super long. We get it, you have a magazine, but do you need to talk about it for that long? And in the middle of the interview?

I recommend this podcast for anyone interested in cinema. I think there’s no better insight into the writing process. But I would also recommend Jeff Goldsmith to reconsider his advertising methods and maybe think a bit about interview techniques.
