A podcast about people and the objects that have shaped them. Each week, a guest is invited to pick 5 things that have inspired, delighted, provoked or influenced them. They then talk about these items ‘on tape’ at a time and place of their choosing - ideally with as many of the things present as possible. The show is presented and produced by Zoe Laughlin, Director of the Institute of Making in London. For pictures of all the things selected in each episode, please visit www.thethingsthatmakeus.com

This is a great show. Charming, funny, entertaining and interesting.
An adeptly delivered personal insight into the minds and lives of talented individuals.
Good listen. Can't wait for more!
I found ‘The Things That Make Us’ an excellent listen, wonderfully hosted by Zoe Laughlin, a good mix of thought-provoking questions as well as cheeky ones. Its a podcast about ‘things’ and although they fight for the spotlight its the funny, open and humble cameos of humanity that grab the headlines
A wonderful insight into the minds of some creative people. Zoe's concept of discussing objects important to the interviewee reveals interesting details you wouldn't expect to come from a "traditional" interview. I listened to the first two episodes back to back, looking forward to hear the next!
