Technology Fun!

This is a good show covering IT, Technology and bits of life. The main presenters are well known in the Tech world and so are most of the guests. Worth a listen on a Monday morning.

The Emperors new podcast

In short, imagine sitting next to a group of self important, opinionated, loud-mouth, American nerds for an hour, in a bar, but not being able at any point to stand up and tell them how deeply misinformed they are and you're somewhere close to the listening experience you get from this bay area navel gaze. Every time I make the mistake of giving this show another chance I am reminded of why I got annoyed with it last time I attempted to listen to it, usually within the first 5 minutes of it's inane style of chatter spewing forth from my earbuds. Chatter being the operative word. Brouhaha. Bunkum. While I'm certain that going for a beer and a chatter with any one of these guys, one-on-one would be informative and entertaining, listening to all of them talk at once about everything, it seems, but how to mix, edit and produce a radio show - which is what this podcast attempts to be, is both a painful and frustrating experience. If it's not someone breathing heavily or grunting down a coffee while none of the so called professional radio broadcasters think to mute their mic, it's someone with a low gain, badly EQ'd mic sounding off about esoteric, never fully explained security issues that only affect people stupid enough to still be using Windows. TWiT's one redeeming feature is the lack of Adam Curry, which is to be encouraged at all available opportunities.

Informative and fun

This is definitely my favourite way to catch up on the week's tech news - yeah, some of the time they go way off tangent, but they do know what they're talking about and point you to some great sites and technologies you wouldn't otherwise find and a good range of guests provide a further range of opinions. Well worth a listen.
