The phone hacking scandal that closed News of the World was big, that was just the tip of the iceberg. At the bottom of that iceberg of 'dark arts' - hacking, burglary, bugging, and bribing bent cops - is the body of Daniel Morgan. It’s been described by an Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police as “one of the most disgraceful episodes in the entire history of the Metropolitan Police Service.” Over the three decades since Daniel was killed, five failed police investigations and an ongoing panel inquiry, his has become the most investigated murder in British history. The story moves from back streets of London, through the highest echelons of Scotland Yard, to the offices of Rupert Murdoch's best selling newspapers, to the doors of Number Ten Downing Street. Has potential but they must adapt

The podcast has a lot of potential, it's a good story but they need to understand that this is a podcast and not a film documentary. The story often goes from one thing to the next - brother speaking - sister speaking - the 80s - childhood - back to the 80s again. Remember, the audience are blind to this story, we don't know the characters.

A complex story, well told.

Murder followed by justice denied to the Morgan family, over and over again.
This is a complex story of corruption and criminality and Peter Jukes does a fine job narrating us through it. This podcast has the potential to be the UK's "Serial". I really hope that it leads to Alastair Morgan seeing his brother's murderers held to account.

Everyone should be told

If you've just come across this story for the first time then you should be asking yourself why. Be sure to tell your friends, your family and your work mates about how 'after' five failed police inquiries, has this murder never been solved and why a tabloid newspaper had been interfering with the evidence. The 1987 murder of Daniel Morgan takes you deep into the dirty, dark and seedy world of gangsters, corruption, police and the press and you'll then start to understand why the second part of the Leveson inquiry, Leveson 2, keeps getting buried. So much to lose by so many if this murder was ever solved. Please, please, please make sure you share and tell everyone because it's a story everyone should know about.
