Definitely not to be left for dead

I hadn't followed a radio drama since I was a young boy but on the recommendation of a friend I gave We're Alive a shot.

The early episodes are not the strongest and occasionally the humour falls flat but when the series gets into its stride it is truly something to behold.

We're Alive does an amazing job of presenting the action and balances the cliff hangers well with the "reveals". The performances are almost always great but particular praise should be heaped on the Scott Marvin, Nate Geez and Jenna McCombie who play Burt, Saul and 'Scratch respectively. McCombie does an excellent job of making the listener actively dislike her character and I am considering dedicating the rest of my life to cultivating a voice like that of Scott Marvin.

It is truly compulsive listening - I went through the entire first series in 3 days.
I almost want it to be autumn already so there are new episodes.

Excellent - radio drama is NOT dead!!!

Absolutely love this - it's not just zombies attacking relentlessly, although there is plenty of that... there's an excellent storyline regarding relationships and conflicts... I don't want to do a *SPOILER* here so I can't really go into too much, but there IS a 'twist' on the zombie genre that I reckon is pretty unique... of course traditionalists will want their zombies to be slow moving, shambling automaton creatures and were probably disgusting with the 'Dawn' remake - but hey, any twist is good to prevent something from going stale! This is a drama that keeps you gripped and does NOT get boring! Thanks to the writers and the talent - plus the FX people and music guys for making this so good!

This is not only one of the best radio dramas that I have ever listened to, it is one of the best dramas that I've had the pleasure of finding, and that includes Television and Film. The story is gripping and fresh, with very interesting concepts on the Zombie genre. The storylone is full and varied, which an excellent selection of characters to love, hate, and journey with. One of the reviewers has said that on the whole the acting abilty is awful. This is utter rubbish. Some of the accents are a little dodgy perhaps, but that in no way impedes the excellent characterisations that the actors have created. To say the acting is poor, clearly means that the reviewer has no concept of what acting actually is! Trust me, I'm an actor, and a pretty successful one at that... No names!! Radio drama requires a completely different style to the visual mediums and these guys have nailed that on the head!
There are only two problems I have with the show; 1: They don't come out soon enough, but then I know that recording them takes time, and 2: it now makes me long for other radio serial podcast, if which there seems to be none that even come close to this level of quality.
I myself write, and am especially interested in the zombie genre. I wonder if the producers would be interested in colaborating in a British based serial set in the same universe as We're Alive. Maybe We're Alive UK. I think it could be interesting what with the fact that guns are not as easy to come by as in America.
Anyhow, keep up the good work boys and girls. This show is the Dogs Boll@*ks... That's cockney for excellent.
