Episodes 1 and 2 of 24 Season 8 will be available the day after the UK broadcast on 25th January 2010. Set in New York City, “Day Eight” unfolds amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is unwillingly drawn back into the intense action after learning of a plot to assassinate determined Middle Eastern peace-keeping leader Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor) as he negotiates international security with President Taylor (Cherry Jones) and new chief of staff Rob Weiss (Chris Diamantopoulos). Meanwhile, Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) and Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) return alongside CTU newcomers Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff), Arlo Glass (John Boyd), Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson), and Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.). Season 8 of 24 promises to combine the show’s unique and trend-setting format with compelling new elements, including a new setting, new threats, and new cast members. Each episode will again cover one hour of real time as viewers follow Jack Bauer through another astonishing day.

No HD AGAIN? Oh dear.

Again iTunes UK serve up second best to us lot, while iTunes US treat's it's customers to high-def. We all own HDTVs now Fox, so it's pretty simple - HD or no sale. Understood?

Oh and fair pricing would be nice too. Americans pay a mere £30 for this in HD, while we pay £35 for SD. What a deal, you really spoil us!

No HD AGAIN!? NO Sale!

Im really getting fed up with Fox not giving iTunes users in the UK HD TV shows. ABC do it, Warner do. Why not you fox!? The iTunes US store has HD 24. It's a real pity, cos I am not going to buy this without HD. What's the point when I can get it from elsewhere!

No HD, no buy! NOT WORTH IT!

No release date given...

I've paid for a series pass anticipating that it will be available any day now, as the series has commenced in America.

However why do itunes omit to mention the release date of the first episodes ? I'm assuming it will be simultaneous to the premier on Sky, but it would be helpful to know for sure.

Also what is the point of leaving feedback if itunes takes no notice? I remember lots of complaints about the lack of HD and the price disparity last season.
