The Catherine Tate Show, Series 1
Open iTunes to preview or buy TV programmes.
A self-titled sketch show from the Perrier-nominated comedienne. This hilarious series is a menagerie of instantly recognisable characters, from the Hollywood actress with an over-enthusiastic penchant for botox to the screaming housewife who hollers every time her toast jumps from the toaster. Characters from everyday life are parodied to the extreme as the talented actress morphs through ages, accents and wigs. Tate is one of the most exciting female comic performers around.

jus simply awesome
Tired sketch formula, but the content is right up to date ;D
Catherine's wonderfully observed characters are often sharp as a razor even if the sketch show formula feels a bit outdated. Her support cast are uniformly brilliant at playing straight foils to her often insightful characitures of outsiders who, with some exceptions, are often embittered and angry trying to keep face in polite middle class society... Her ability to switch from a cranky flat ridden grandma to an unpopular schoolgirl are hilarious and wholly convincing. In my opinion, she is an awesome talent that surpasses many of her sketch show contemporaries, even Matt and David of Little Britain... and rivals even my favourite - The League Of Gentlemen. Buy it now while it's a steal at £6!!!
'A good laugh'
This is one of the funniest, humerous things ever envented in the world of television. For those who think that grandma's are always sweet and sensitive must see this. For those who think charitys are always soppy storied watch this. A brilliant laugh for a bad day!!! :)
