Description

Joss Whedon, the creative genius behind the feature film "Marvel's The Avengers," one of the highest grossing films of all time, and the iconic television series "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," has co-created Marvel's first television series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," a dynamic, action-packed one-hour drama that brings back Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) to lead a team of highly skilled agents to investigate extra-normal and super human people and events worldwide. The series begins where the "Marvel's The Avengers" left off. It's just after the battle of New York, and now that the existence of super heroes and aliens has become public knowledge, the world is trying to come to grips with this new reality. Agent Phil Coulson is back in action and now has his eye on a mysterious group called The Rising Tide. In order to track this unseen, unknown enemy, he has assembled a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). The S.H.I.E.L.D. team has a mission: To investigate the new, the strange and the unknown around the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson's team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

Customer Reviews

I'm a fan of the Marvel Movieverse, but this...

…is a part of it I don't mind missing. Joss Whedon, who did a great job with Avengers, has made a giant blunder with this. It's weak outdated, episodic TV plotting with a fuzzy 90's aesthetic that is inexcusable in a time when we have networks like HBO and AMC knocking genre TV out of the park. This is like watching re-runs of Buffy without the spooks, vampires and whatever else made it popular. I gave up watching after five episodes and reviews everywhere have not made me regret that decision...

Don’t give up on it

massive fan of the marvel cinematic universe, so was excited to watch part of that at home on tv! I must admit the first few episodes did nothing to make me invest in the series, i thought id watch only for the sake of it relating too the films. Half way through the season they flick a switch and boom everything in the show that didn’t work now does, the final story arcs of the season are incredible. What makes the second half so interesting is that it connects to the fallout of captain america winter soldier. This makes for great drama and action with a very cool premise for where the now confirmed second season of the show will go!

Gets better with every episode

I enjoyed the first few episodes but wasn't hooked until episode five/six... now I can't wait for more!

The characters develop so well as the series progresses, and the arc gets stronger and far more fascinating with every twist and turn... Fans of Marvel will enjoy this but so will the casual viewer (like me), and I'd recommend this as a promising new show to anyone looking for something new to enjoy.
