When five young outsiders on Community Service get caught in a flash storm they quickly discover that they have been saddled with strange superpowers. Each week the gang reluctantly step up to the plate to save each other and the rest of their community from the very thing they’ve all been mistaken for – the bad guys. But unlike their more conventional counterparts, they don’t swap their Reebok classics and ankle tags for capes and tights. Finally something decent from the UK
Having just seen the first episode on E4 all I can say is...about time people. The US may as well set up shop on UK television, not because we dont make any TV, but because we just seemed so unimaginative and boring. At least until now. Misfits is so aptly named because it does not fit in with the rest of the total rubbish on UK television. This is good. Its funny, well casted and witty. Best of all it's raw. The UK can polish a scene when it wants to. (Take Merlin as an example). But not here. Even the script is raw. Some of the lines are so lame, they have to have been planned to be and being lame, they work they fit the characters, and Londoners especially will identify 100% with them. Will it last? Who cares. Let's face it most series start well and get progressively more and more rubbish. Lost and Heroes did that. How many of you watched the first series and slowly saw less and less until you could not be bothered anymore? Yeah me too. Misfits better not do the same.... well here's hoping.
Good things to come....hopefully.
Episode 1 was soooo good that it prompted me to write my first iTunes Review ever....which will be rather brief.
If this episode is anything to go by then this is going to be one hell of a show and to mirror one of the other reviewers, it's great to see this kind of show come from the UK and it's about time too.
It's times like this that I wish British serials followed the American 24 episode format...
i seriously LOVE this show lol xD. i cant wait for episode 2. i think i will like this more than skins !
