Kenneth Branagh stars as Kurt Wallander, a sensitive but brilliant detective - a man who takes each murder case he works on personally and will stop at nothing in his search for the truth, even at the expense of his health and his family life. Based on the best-selling novels of Henning Mankell and set in the beautiful landscape of southern Sweden, this is compelling crime drama at its best.

Hard to beat.
It would be impossible to praise this series too highly. One of the best detective drama series of all time, it stands head and shoulders above many modern drama series produced over the past decade. From the superb and breathtaking cinematography (every shot is exquisitely executed) to the incidental music, script and classy acting performances led by Kenneth Branagh, both series are mesmerising.
True to the books, atmospheric and great performances all round. Just watch it!
